Who We Are

Reboot Wellbeing and Empowerment Foundation (R-WEF) is a Pan-African nonprofit building the systems young Africans need to thrive: in their minds, in their work and in their communities.

Our Story

R-WEF began as a question: why are so many brilliant young Africans, talented, driven and full of potential, still overwhelmed, under-resourced and unsure of where they fit? Not because they aren’t trying, but because the systems around them were never designed to hold them.

Our founder, Jessica Ohaka, saw the pattern from the inside over eight years of youth development work. Mental health conversations happened in one room and career conversations in another. Skills training was cut off from real jobs. Community organisations did vital work but were too fragile to last.

R-WEF was built to close those gaps together, with people-centred systems that connect wellbeing to economic opportunity, and help local organisations sustain that work long after outside support ends.

Africa's young people don't need to be saved. They need systems worthy of who they already are.

Vision and Mission

Our Vision

An Africa where young people thrive in systems that protect wellbeing, enable meaningful work and sustain community-led solutions.

Our Mission

To strengthen mental wellbeing, expand pathways to decent work and support the sustainability of local organisations, by designing people-centred systems that equip young Africans to shape resilient and inclusive futures.

Our Values

The principles we refuse to compromise, in every season.

Dignity

Every young person enters the room already worthy. Our systems protect that.

Innovation

We don't recycle what hasn't worked. We ask harder questions.

Sustainability

We build for the long game. Systems, not sprints.

Youth Leadership

Young people are the present we answer to, not just the future.

Equity

Access shouldn't depend on your postcode, background or bank account.

Integrity

We say what we mean and do what we say.
